Pretties is the second title in the Uglies trilogy written by Scott Westerfeld. It is a sci-fi novel, set in a future dystopian world. Summary of the Book In a future world, everyone becomes “pretty” by extreme cosmetic surgery after turning 16. This title narrates the story of a teenager called Tally Youngblood who does not want to abide by her society’s imposed conformism. She goes to a bash where she is followed by a member of Special Circumstances, a “Special”. Tally discovers its Croy after finding him, a Smokey she knew before turning pretty. He then tells her that he has left a note for her in Valentino Mansion and goes back to The Smoke. Tally tries to follow him by pushing Peris off the balcony, where she cut her head and was voted into the Crims by the bubbly move. Discover what follows next in this page-turner. He has won Victorian Premier’s Award, Aurealis Award, and Locus Award for Best Young Adult Fiction, among other awards.
