Pride and Prejudice, one of the popular novels of all time, is a witty and delightful social satire of 18th century England. It is a heartwarming story of the love between Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet by best-loved author, Jane Austen. Summary of the Book Elizabeth Bennet is the second of five daughters of an English country gentleman. Elizabeth has always been unaccustomed to social situations, but this time she has to attend a ball where she gets to meet Fitzwilliam Darcy. He is up-tight and conceited and acts arrogant towards her and towards the ball in general, making for a pretty bad first impression. At social functions over subsequent weeks, Mr. Darcy finds himself increasingly attracted to Elizabeth’s charm and intelligence. Eventually, she discovers that Mr. Darcy isn't all that bad after all. Pride and Prejudice will be a delightful read for people of all ages.
