Psycho-Cybernetics is a self-help book that will provide useful suggestions to its readers regarding how to always aim for success, and how to do so with a positive frame of mind. Summary Of The Book Psycho-Cybernetics is a handbook created with the purpose of enhancing the positive thought process and inculcating productive changes in the process. The book says that by establishing the right connection between the mind and the body, any ends can be achieved. This actually forms the basis for most self-help books. Psycho-Cybernetics initially talks about how important it is to have the right frame of mind. Readers will be able to unlock that perfect mind-body link that leads inevitably to success. The book explains how a crisis can be used to a person’s advantage, always emphasising on maintaining a positive attitude. The USP of the book is the sound common sense that underlies all the suggestions, theories and mental techniques. Another important feature of the book is that Maltz explores the infinite possibilities presented by ‘emotional surgery’, which he says is a sure-fire means to achieving a great image of one’s self, thus boosting confidence and esteem and automatically leading to success. Psycho-Cybernetics is full of other self-help ideas, such as how to let your real personality come to the surface by letting things which do not matter truly slide. There is also an interesting chapter where the author talks about undoing emotional scars. It is very important not to let the memory of a past failure impact the potential success of a future endeavor. The author, being a cosmetic surgeon, had a better understanding than other people of how the mind impacts success and confidence in a person. Psycho-Cybernetics was first published in 1960.
