Psychology is an academic and applied discipline involving the scientific study of mental processes and behaviour. Psychology also refers to the application of such knowledge to various spheres of human activity, including relating to individuals' daily lives and the treatment of mental illness. The subject psychology has two aspects psychology has two aspects pure and applied. Pure psychology formulates techniques for the study of human behaviour, which finds the practical shape in its applied aspects, i.e. branches of applied psychology like clinical psychology, crime psychology, industrial psychology, industrial psychology and educational psychology. As discussed above educational psychology is nothing but one of the branches of applied psychology. It is an attempt to apply knowledge of pure psychology to the field of education. It consists of application of psychological principles and techniques to human behaviour in educational situations. About The Author D. Jain, the author of the book has a keen interest in the sports from his school days. He completed his higher studies from Punjab University, Chandigarh. In the school time, he took part in various sports competitions. Even after his school life, his interest towards sports world did not end which brought him into the difficult, but excited field of writing the books on various sports. Till now he has written many books on various sports some of which are: Play and Learn Judo, Play and Learn Archery, Play and Learn Handball, Play and Learn Team Sports etc. He is a generative writer of sports and authored more than a dozen books on sports. Even he has contributed so much books to sports world, but he is not satisfied with these, because of which these days he is busy in his new work which is expected to be completed in near future.
