Published in the year 2007, Common Proficiency Test: Quantitative Aptitude Statistics is a book that is designed to equip students appearing for the common proficiency test(CPT). Summary Of The Book Common Proficiency Course, also known as Common Proficiency Test (CPT), is the first stage of CA (Chartered Accounting) examinations. Students who desire to appear for CPT may register after finishing their Secondary examinations, and appear for the examination after Senior Secondary examinations (Class-XII). The CPT examination consists of 200 multiple choice questions, covering four subjects which are divided into two parts. In the First part of the examination, the students are presented with questions pertaining to the Fundamentals Of Accounting, and Mercantile Laws. The Second section has questions that are based on Economics, and Quantitative Aptitude. If a question is answered incorrectly, the candidate is loses 0.25 marks. To clear this test, the candidate needs to score 30 percent marks in every section, and 50 percent marks in aggregate. This pen-paper examination is conducted in the month of June, and December. An online test is also conducted from time to time. Common Proficiency Test: Quantitative Aptitude Statistics is a book that complies with the syllabus of C.P.T, prescribed by the Board Of Studies, The Institute Of Chartered Accountants Of India. The presentation, and language used in this book is very simple, which helps the readers gain sound understanding of the concepts covered. In total, there are 11 chapters in this book. Some of the chapters include Revision Techniques (Results And Formula - Chapter-wise), Expected Value By Mathematical Expectation, Sampling And Estimation Theory, Measures Of Central Tendency Or Averages, Statistical Description Of Data, Theoretical Distributions, and Regression Analysis. The readers are provided with mock tests, and multiple-choice questions, which help them gauge their progress. Through the course of this book, the concepts are explained with a number of solved examples. Graphs, and diagrams are also drawn neatly, which helps the readers understand the problem with just one glance. The questions present in this book are similar in structure to that of the CPT examination.
