Working from home is not restricted to a day or two, but could very well become the reality of our times. “Remote” by David Heinemeier Hansson and Jason Fried is a book about not being shackled to chains at work. The idea of being productive by working remotely is interestingly put in this book. The book tells the readers in a simple manner about the tips and tricks to being productive, even though not at work. “Remote” acts as a simple guide on different practices when it comes to workplace culture and how it is changing as we speak. The book is a great reminder of how to adapt to changing times and making it work both for the employee and the employer. "   This book explores in detail the phenomenon that is becoming a trend among today’s generation of employees: working from home. It is an attempt to understand the benefits and challenges of this whole new concept, which is soon catching up in many organizations and how they are using it to get things done. Summary of the Book Advancement in technology is allowing employees to work from anywhere they may feel like it. The idea of working under one roof, which would be the office or workplace, is slowly declining. Virtual workspaces allow one to work without having to necessarily stay under one roof. The new theory has become to “move work to the workers, rather than workers to their workplace”. Parents, especially mothers, are more welcome to this trend. In this book, Fried and Hansson convince readers that working from home is a great idea and comes with its advantages.
