About the Book:This book explores the complex terrain of the domesticity, and reveals many issues that are deep rooted within the family, the revolt against the deeply embedded traditions, quest for identity, the problems of marriage; and lastly the woman’s struggle for her survival. The selected authors reflect, analyze and understand in their works, the gender relations and role of power exercised within the structure. Their novels as literary representations use houses and the families living in them as the symbols of tradition. The emphasis of this work is on the exploration and analysis of the struggle and resistance of women protagonists against patriarchal structures as presented through the fiction.
