?One Night at the Call Centre? focuses on the story of one night?s happening with 6 people working together at a call centre in Gurgaon, India. At this particular call centre, the employees are focused on giving technical support to American clients. The 6 characters, Shyam, Priyanka, Esha, Vroom, Radhika and Military Uncle are friends, who are all working on this particular night shift together. In America, it is the THANKSGIVING time and the phone lines are ringing frantically. The call centre receives one call from a very special caller, GOD. A call that alters everything. Although, it is vastly based on this story of 6 characters, the book initiates with a train journey from Kanpur to Delhi. The narrating author meets a young girl on the train, who offers to narrate to him an account with a prerequisite that he will have to convert it into his 2nd publication. The author hesitantly agrees. And the story is of that particular night at the call centre in Gurgaon. The story is narrated through Shyam?s perspective. The narrations include emotions of lost love, disillusioned aspirations, lack of warmth from family, stress of patriarchal system and the work environs of multinationals.+The 3 Mistakes of my life is the third novel written by eminent Indian Author Chetan Bhagat. Based on cricket, business and religion, the novel is set against the backdrop of beautiful city Ahmedabad. Revolving around three young Indian boys Omi, Ishaan and Govind, the book goes on to narrate how the three are trying their best to make ends meet in the city. Govind dreams to be a successful businessperson, while his friend Ishaan loves cricket and with the help of Omi and his priest parents, they set up their first venture - a sports accessories? shop in a rented place outside the temple premises. Mostly revolving around these three young fellows, the novel has almost everything that youngsters in India can relate to; from budding love story and betrayal to death, riots and suicide, the book touches upon a wide range of emotions and common perceptions in India. Targeting young audiences, the 3 mistakes of my life is a simply written novel that like his previous work is filled with dramatic twists and turns that keep a reader glued to the book till the end.+The main characters of this book are people all Indian readers can easily identify with namely; Gopal, Raghav and Aarti. They are childhood friends, with one of the boys wanting to use his intelligence for raking in the money and the other wants to fight the rut of the system. And in between them is Aarti. What ensues is a tale of love, heartbreak, dark politicians, power of money, friendship turning enmity and true happiness. This is a gripping tale which is sure to capture the attention of the youth who will find many scenarios of the book relatable to their personal lives. Chetan Bhagat is a master at writing novels which are easy to understand and its lucid language ensures its widespread popularity.
