Indian from of the division of society into classes appeared as social order, caste in form but class in content . it played the same role in India as slavery did in ancient greece. This argument is an inspiration to every student of Indian of history to probe into the history of ancient Indian, particularly of the age of Rgveda, which is the first literary monument of ancient human culture. The present study is an attempt to study the Rgvedic age analyzing its class structure.
