Sodium laureth sulfate (SLES), also known as sodium lauryl ether sulfate, is an anionic detergent and surfactant found in many personal care products such as soaps, shampoos, and toothpaste, as well as for industrial uses. SLES is a major ingredient in: Soaps, Toothpaste, Shampoos, Body washes, Hand wash, etc. It effectively removes dirt, oil, and other impurities due to its ability to lower the surface tension of water and mix with oils. In herbicides, SLES is used as a surfactant to improve the absorption of herbicidal chemicals and reduce the time it takes for the product to be rainfast. It is also used in cleaning products and contributes to their foaming properties.
