These Diyas switch on when you put water on them(one spoon of water). Yes, just like oil and ghee mitti Diya they are water diyas. As you drop water they illuminate a warm orange light similar to oil Diya creating a traditional ambiance in the atmosphere.Our Diyas come with button Cell batteries that could be easily replaced after the battery dies. Our battery-operated diyas are powered by 3 button cell (LR44) 357 1.5V each (installed and included) that will last at least 50+ hours
