Robert Ludlum’s The Ares Decision is one of the books from the Covert-One series. The book features a team of experts both, technical and political, belonging to Covert-One, a top-secret U.S. agency who are pitted against bioweaponry in Northern Uganda. Summary Of The Book Robert Ludlum’s The Ares Decision is set in Northern Uganda where an American special forces team is destroyed by a group of farmers who are usually peaceful and nonviolent. However, the videographic evidence of the attacks shows a shockingly contradictory scene where even women and children seem to have been possessed by strength and speed that seem almost supernatural. The rage that they are consumed with overpowers any fear and pain. Colonel Jon Smith, an army biologist belonging to Covert-One, a top-secret group established by the U.S. President, is deputed to North Uganda to investigate this deadly attack. Once there, he learns of an infection caused by a parasite that had been the cause for violent insanity in the Ugandans for hundreds of years before going dormant. Things are very different this time as he finds out that the parasite has been kept alive with the purpose of using it in terrorist attacks. With the intention of using this form of bioweaponry against the West, the Director of Intelligence from Iran is also trying to get his hands on this biological weapon. Soon, Smith and his team find themselves ambushed and isolated from any form of outside communication. Just as they begin to suspect the involvement of the Iranians, they are shocked to find out that there may be people in Washington who may be involved in this deadly game too.
