Robert Ludlum’s The Bourne Ascendancy is the new spy thriller novel by Eric Van Lustbader. With permission from the estate of Robert Ludlum, Lustbader has continued penning the riveting Jason Bourne novels from where Ludlum had left off in The Bourne Ultimatum, making this title the twelfth novel in the Bourne series and the ninth by Lustbader. Summary of the Book Jason Bourne is again given an impossible mission. He is supposed to impersonate a minister at a political summit in Qatar so that he can protect the minister from assassination efforts. But unexpectedly, armed gunmen walk into the room and kill everyone but Bourne. Their target, though, is not the minister but Bourne himself! He is taken away to an underground bunker where he gets to meet El Ghadan, a notorious terrorist. On the other hand, the President of the U.S. is in the middle of organising a historic peace treaty between Israel and the Palestine - an event that El Ghadan is determined to stop. He wants Bourne to kill the President. He has also taken Soraya and her daughter captive, whom he threatens to kill if Bourne refuses the offer. What choice does Bourne make this time?
