Summary of the Book When several high-ranking US officials are kidnapped, Jon Smith and the Covert One team are put on the case. Among the kidnapped is Nick Rendel, a coder and an expert on drone programming and strategy. In his hands he holds the key to confidential passwords, codes and details related to the US Drone program. As the team recovers a few of the kidnapped officials, they discover that kidnappers used brainwashing or mind-altering drugs on them. The search leads Smith to Fort Detrick, where a researcher had once tried to create a memory wiping drug to use on soldiers suffering from post-traumatic stress. However, the researcher was later placed in a mental institution, and her research was stopped. Can the team find Nick Rendel before he cracks and reveals all of America’s secrets related to the Drone program?
