The term of Roman art distinguishes, in art history, the period between the 11th and the 13th century. This era shows a great diversity of regional schools which were all specific in their own way. In architecture as well as in sculpture, the Roman art is marked by raw forms. By its rich iconography and through a captivating text, this work rediscovers this art from the middle ages often despised today still in comparison to Gothic art which succeeded thereafter..
