This book, containing twenty chapters, attempts to explore ways and means of rural development in India. Providing empirical insights into the structure of rural India, it presents a critical evaluation of past experiences of rural development in the country and also tries to re-model future policies. Also, it addresses issues concerning population explosion, unemployment, poverty, migration, educational backwardness, infrastructure development, community participation, and inter-district disparities in socio-economic development.
