They communicate through marginalia in the book and that is most fascinating. Over a period of time, they also discover themselves. The book is full of surprises. Dorst and Abrams have done a wonderful job of this maze of a story. The reader is always taken by surprise and with the numerous twists and turns in this romp of a novel. You must read this if you love fantasy and a nice mystery at the same time. " The book is about a young woman who finds a book left behind by a stranger. She notices that the book consists of margin notes by the stranger who was entranced by the story and had a deep interest in the mysterious writer.
