Sanjogita or The Princess of Aryavarta (1903) is a monumental work written by Late Shri K. K. Sinha. This is the second historical novel written in English in India, the first being S.C. Dutt’s, The Times of Yore, a collection of twenty-four tales, retold with an emphasis on the ‘romantic, adventurous and curious.’ - Dr. R. K. Sinha. Sanjogita, the novel, is an attempt by Late Shri K. K. Sinha, to present the POV of Sanjogita and not that of warrior king Prithvi Raj Chouhan. It is a romantic, historical fiction. Sanjogita was commented on by Glasgow Herald in the following terms: “The author in a covering letter claims indulgence on the score of his having written a book in a foreign language. But his diction needs no apology.”
