There is no God, no Devil. There where does Creation stem from? Where do these legends come from? Discover the answers in LaVeyian satanism, in The Satanic Rituals, written by the founder of the religion, Anton Szander LaVey. Summary of the Book Leviathan, Belial, Lucifer, Satan, these and other names are stories to scare children. Since when have they entered mainstream religion? Anton LaVey’s religion is deeply rooted in atheism, for that is what LaVeyian Satanism is all about. He revealed his philosophy, labeling indulgence, vital existence, undefiled wisdom, kindness, vengeance, and responsibility as the forms of what the Church has called Satan in the Satanic Bible, and in this book, he reveals the nine rituals of his Satanic doctrine. Satanists have been classified under demon worshippers for decades, but not all of them worship demons. In fact, LaVey’s followers don’t worship anything at all. Their philosophy is centered around finding one’s own meaning in life and rising above the hive-mind. In a model similar to that proposed by Nietzche, LaVey showed how Satanists are born, defined through their need for independence and hunt for recognition. The Church has dictated that there are seven sins, but LaVeyian Satanism highlights nine cardinal sins, those of stupidity, pretentiousness, solipsism, self-deceit, Herd Conformity, Lack of Perspective, Forgetfulness of Past Orthodoxies, Counterproductive Pride, and Lack of Aesthethics. The philosophy believes in progressing mankind’s need for a higher form of intelligence, as opposed to conformance. With these rituals, LaVey explains how to rise up to mankind’s true calling, and achieve true perspective. About Anton Szander LaVey Anton Szander LaVey, also known as Howard Stanton Levey, was the founder of the Church of Satan, writer and occultist. His teachings incorporated what would be later known as LaVeyan Satanism, a synthesized system of his understanding of human nature and the insights of philosophers who advocated materialism and individualism. He was also referred to as “The Doctor” by fellow cultists. LaVey advocated his version of Satanism as contrary to popular belief, insisting that his teaching have nothing to do with devil worship, or Theistic Satanism. He also wrote the Satanic Bible, The Satanic Witch, The Devil's Notebook, and Satan Speaks! About the Church of Satan The Church of Satan is a religious organization instituted by Anton LaVey. LaVey served as its Head Priest for 11 years from 1966 to 1997, and it is currently headed by Peter H. Gilmore. The Church organizes regular inductions and initiations for new members, denoted as Active Members of the First Degree. Requirements to higher degrees are reserved for members only, and at level 3 and above, members are deemed Priests. Fifth Degree members are called Doctors. The idea for the Church was conceived by LaVey as a result of his group called the Order of the Trapezoid. The members of the Order were future leaders of the Church. In the 1980s, the faced a lot of opposition from the FBI and the Government of the United States of America as a result of what the media called “The Satanic Panic.” LaVey’s daughter Zeena, was a prominent spokesperson for the Church and appeared on programs as The Phil Donahue Show, Nightline with Ted Koppel, Entertainment Tonight, The Late Show, Secrets & Mysteries and the Sally Jesse Raphael Show.
