About the Book:This book is the author’s homage to some of the literary masters. A fascinating collection of four selected essays, they present critical perspectives on interesting areas of the writings of four world renowned authors–Shakespeare, Milton, Dickens and Eliot. The essays in this volume cover varied subjects areas such as: Shakespeare’s influence on the English language, parallels drawn between Milton’s political revolution denouncing authority and the upsurge of Satan against God in Paradise Lost, the evils of child labour that existed in Dickens’ Victorian England prevalent even today and Eliot’s extensive use of biblical allusions, and literary references in Prufrock. About the author:Dr Anindita Dutta, has been teaching English to college students at the undergraduate level, for many years now. Her areas of interest include British and American literature and ELT. A prolific writer, her research papers and articles are frequently published in peer reviewed national and international journals of repute. She is also largely involved in ELT textbooks and material production.
