Every girl dreams of her wedding day that, on this day, the man of her dreams will fill her head with the sacred ‘sindoor’ (vermillion), adorn her neck with mangalsutra hands with red bangles, feet with beautiful silver anklet and to circumambulate around the fire. The marriage is considered very sacred in Indian society which not only establishes a union among two individuals but also between two families. A young girl with bridal make-up sitting next to the groom only is referred simply to as somebody’s daughter. However, she is more than just a daughter. This girl symbolizes the struggle and penance of her parents who raised her to be an independent, beautiful, and obedient individual. The parents had made all efforts to nurture her. Love, time, money, and emotions – they have poured in all to make this little plant blossom into a beautiful flower. Every parents aspire getting a prince charming for their daughters. The father of a young girl in this story aspires for the same. Will he be able to make this dream come true? This you will come to know after reading the novel. Some situations in my life inspired me to use my creativity and transform it into something powerful. My unending love for writing motivated me to pen down several poems, stories and other literary masterpieces. By God’s grace and immense love showered by my readers, most of these have been awarded by various newspaper, magazine and Radio stations. These writings, which I started since my schooling from 4 th standard up to reaching college, gradually took shape of a novel named, “Shaadi Ka Sapna”.
