Shaw’s Candida: A Critical Introduction presents a detailed study as well as a critical analysis on Candida and its different aspects. A brief discussion is also included on Shaw as a dramatist. The book has been furcated in three parts. The first part includes five chapters—The Shaw Phenomenon, Drama in the Later Victorian Period, Advent of Shaw, Dramatic Career, and Influences on Shaw. The second part of the book has six chapters—Theme and Title, Plot and Character, The Question of Conflict, Problem Play and Drama of Ideas, Pre-Raphaelite Play, and Level of Emotion. And the third part includes three chapters—The Part of Art, Language and Reality, and Comic Genius. A Bibliography has also been provided at the end of the book.
