A high power DC - DC step down power supply module capable of supplying currents up to 5A. It has a wide input/output operating range of 5V to 30V input and 1.5V to 28V output. The module includes two large heatsinks to help dissipate heat when used at its upper operating range. Output voltage and maximum load current is adjustable by a precision multi-turn potentiometer. The combination of its ability to output voltages down to 1.5V and its adjustable current limiting (current mode) also makes the module suitable for battery charging applications. When in current limiting mode the on-board power led will turn from red to blue when the load current drops below 10% of the maximum set by the current limiting potentiometer. This provides a visual indication of when a battery is fully charged.
