Shodh, by Taslima Nasrin, is the story of a woman’s revenge. It delves into the micro world of a woman in which only the husband, the mother-in-law and the neighbours hold a supreme place. Summary of the Book Unlike her other novels, Nasrin explores the subtle nuances of love and marriage in what is called an elite and yet tradition-bound culture. What begins as the tale of Jhumur and Haroon’s marriage, moves on to become a quest, to find answers to much bigger questions about the established and defined human relationships. About Taslima Nasrin Taslima Nasrin was born in Bangladesh. A former physician and an author, Taslima has been living in exile since 1994. She advocates secular humanism, freedom of thought and equality for women. Some of her most notable works are Lajja, Bhromor Koio Gia, Narir Kono Desh Nei, Nirbashito Bahire Ontore, and Nimontron.
