PKM1 was developed by selection of pure lines and spreads only from seeds. It is an early variety of medium to dwarf size, reaching a height of 4 m in the first year after planting and can produce flowers and pods just six months after sowing. PKM1 is perhaps the most planted variety for large-scale planting pest production. It has a yield potential of 50-54 tonnes / ha and is suitable for growing on stubble other crops already harvested on the same land (a dobby crop).
