This book of 30 chapters is a short and informative account of the life of the 10th Sikh guru Gobind Singh, from the time of his birth to the hour of death; it is more of a historical account, and does not delve into the esoteric aspects. The book proceeds chronologically to cover his birth, youth, marriage, death of his father, establishment of the Khalsa Panth, his visits to the various kings and vassals, political alliances, battles and skirmishes, death of his sons, his imprisonment, his assassination etc. Among the places and historical entities that are mentioned in this book are : rajas of Nahan and Garwal, Paunta Sahib, Sodhi Ram Rai, Ajit Singh, Budhu Shah, Kirpal Das, Anandpur, Alif Khan, Jujhar Singh, Nandlal, Rawalsar, Chamkaur, Bairagi Banda, Manjha Sikhs, Jog Singh, Rai Dalla, Aurangzeb, etc. This book is a reprint of the 1909 edition.
