"Silas Marner is classic by George Eliot about the titular linen weaver, Silas Marner, a resident of Lantern Yard. Falsely accused of stealing from his congregation, Silas’s life is shattered when the woman he is to marry ends their engagement and weds his best friend. Disgraced and disillusioned, Silas leaves Lantern Yard for a small village where no one knows him. Despite, starting a new life and becoming well-known for his craftsmanship in his new home, Silas lives in isolation and rarely interacts with people outside of his work. However, his life changes when a golden-haired child wanders into his house on a winter night. "
