Silas Marner is the sad story of Silas Marner - a handloom linen weaver of Raveloe in the Midlands of England – who has been betrayed by his friend and the unjustly exiled from Lantern Yard in the North. He is restored to life by an orphan child Eppie, whom he brings up as his own. Silas Marner is a tender and moving tale of sin and repentance set in rural England and holds the reader's attention until the last page as Eppie's bonds of affection for Silas are put to the test.
