Summary of the Book In search of a new home to live with her newly wedding husband, Gwenda Reed finds a large old house named Hillside. She gets the house renovated and modified according to her wishes. She envisions a nursery, and she pictures a wallpaper for it. However, when the workers open a long sealed door, they uncover the very wallpaper she had pictured. In another curious turn of fate, a spot her imagination tells her has to be made into a doorway turns out to have been an actual doorway, hidden from sight. Soon, she begins to uncover strange memories connecting her to the house, and she decides to ask for help her in uncovering her link to the house, and its terrible secret. Luckily, the most ingenious Miss Marple decides to give her a helping hand. About Agatha Christie Agatha Christie was an English novelist best known for her murder mystery novels. She created several best-selling storylines centred around timeless characters such as Hercule Poirot, Miss Marple, Tommy and Tuppence and Parker Pyne. Some of her best known books are A Mysterious Affair at Styles, Curtain: Poirot’s Last Case, And Then There Were None and The Murder of Roger Ackroyd. The above book was adapted into an episode of Agatha Christie’s Marple. It starred Joan Hickson as Miss Marple and it is considered a close rendition of the original story.
