Seena contains chemical called sennosides. Sennosides irritate the lining of the bowl which cause a laxative effect. Seena is most often used as a laxative either to relieve constipation or in some case to help weight loss and promote detox. Seena also prevents water and electrolytes from being re absorbed from the colon which increase fluids in the intestines and soften the stool.
