This book is the outcome of the exploration of the theme navigating through the sub – themes such as breaking silence in our world; silence and politics ; the philosophy of silence. We pondered over the debate of silence as agency and silence and agency. Literary narratives across the globe have time and again pointed to the nexus between silence and agency. The disturbing relationship between silence and society has provoked us often to interrogate the problematic nature of this phenomenon. Dr. Pratyush Vatsala, Principal & Professor, Lakshmibai College, University of Delhi has more than 30 years of experience of teaching at UG & PG Colleges in Uttar Pradesh,Uttarakhand and Delhi. She has widely published in national and international journals in English and Hindi. Engaged in creative, social and research activities, she has edited and contributed to many books. An alumna of LSR and Hindu college, she has twenty five years of teaching experience. She has an M.Phil and PhD degree in literature from Delhi University. Indian writing, European drama and Women's studies are some of her areas of interest. She has authored a book on Post-colonial Indian writing besides poetry and articles in various journals.
