The Divine Lamp is dedicated to the Goddess because her statute is engraved on the lamp. It is an essential addition to the prayer room in most Indian households. This lamp usually a Kamatchi Amman villakku or Asthalakshmi vilakku. This vilakku is known as "Nilai vilakku".
