Spoken English: A Foundation Course – Part 1, compiled by Kamlesh Sadanand and Susheela Punitha, and published by Orient Blackswan, is a comprehensive book on oral communication skills in English for speakers of Bangla. It can be used as a self-instructional material by readers. The book comes with an audio CD that gives learners an opportunity to listen to dialogues in everyday situations. It offers answers to practice exercises as well. The book also includes brief, easy to understand tips on pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar and usage. It provides learners a second and more advanced set of 25 functions that need the use of comparatively more complex language structures than those in Part 1.
