Sports medicine is actually a fairly new concept. Only in the last few decades has this particular medical practice garnered enough mainstream attention to make it a worthwhile career for physicians. By definition, sports medicine is aimed at preventing injury and illness to an individual when they are participating in some type of sports or physical exercise. Doctors that specialize in sports medicine also put a great deal of emphasis on enhancing the fitness and overall health of the larger population through exercise and healthy diet. The present book entitles Sports Medicine and Exercise Physiology discusses all the aspects of Sports Medicine and Exercise Physiology. Hopefully, the present book of immensely useful for the students and teachers of Physical Education and Sports. About the Author Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Tripathi, is the founder member & chairman of the All India Council of Physical Education, Constituted as per the recommendation of the Rajya Sabha, of the Parliament of India. He is an authority in the field of Physical Education in India. Being the Members of the several Committees of the University Grants Commission viz; Net Examination Committee (Physical Education), Grants in aid Committee, Experts Committee Minor Research/Seminar/Conferences and CRO Expert Committee Bhopal. He has completed three years Graduation and two years Post Graduation course in Physical Education from Lakshmibai National College of Physical Education, Gwalior in first Division. A National level Player of Basket ball, he also excel in Swimming at National Level competition. He holds the membership of the several academic boards in Barkatullah University, Bhopal and Dr. Hari Singh Gaud University, Sagaur. Attended several International and National Level Seminars and Conferences. Dur his academic contribution in the field of Physical Education and Sports the International Council of Sports Sciences and Physical Education has conferred upon him the Membership of the ICSSPE. Presently he is holding the post of Principal & Professor of the Vidya Niketan Samiti College of Physical Education at Bhopal since 1996.
