Spouse: Shadi ka Sach is the Hindi translation of Shobhaa De’s book, Spouse: The Truth about Marriage. Summary of the Book Shobhaa De patiently scrutinises the institution of marriage in this title. It is not only cheerful and amusing, but also proposes deeper understandings of what makes a marriage work. She inspects the whys and wherefores of the successes and disasters of marriages. Shobhaa also delves into other aspects of married life, including the relationship with in-laws, the control tussle, romance, sex, and children. Each chapter in this book is pepped up with stories from the author’s own know-hows and experiences. About Shobhaa De Shobhaa De is a well-known Indian novelist, writer and journalist. She was born in Mumbai in the year 1948. She completed her degree in Psychology from St. Xavier’s College in Mumbai and started her career as a model, and later turned to journalism. Her books and newspaper columns are extremely famous. Her novels have been translated into several regional languages. Some of her works are even used as course materials in comparative literature studies in several Indian universities and elsewhere. She has worked as an editor for Stardust, Celebrity, and Society. Some of her other notable works are Starry Nights, Strange Obsession, Small Betrayals, Selective Memory and Second Thoughts.
