This 1/8" Elastic Shirring Foot comes with adjustable tension which can be used to control the amount of stretching of the elastic. You can also use this foot to attach 1/8" tape or lace or ribbon without stretching by completely reducing the tension. This is an universal foot for most industrial sewing machines. The tape or elastic inserted in the slot in the Presser foot should be 1/8" wide. However, we tried with a round Elastic cord and that worked beautifully too. Very useful and time saving when we need to sew elastic at the waist of a dress or in the sleeves, we just need to feed the elastic in the slot given in the presser foot and Lay the fabric to which it is to be sewn under the presser foot. Similarly decorative trims, lace, ribbon also can be sewn easily at the sleeve hem or dress hem using this presser foot.
