About Henry E. Garrett Henry Edward Garrett was born on 27th January, 1894, in Virginia. He completed his undergraduate degree from the University of Richmond, and went on to obtain his master’s degree and doctoral degrees from the Columbia University. He was the President of the American Psychological Association, after which he served as the Chair of Psychology at the Columbia University. He then went on to teach at the University of Virginia. Garrett also served as the Director of the Pioneer Fund from 1972-73. Dr. Garrett passed away on 26th June, 1973, in Charlottesville, Virginia.
