Bansi Sooji or Rava is a coarsely ground form of wheat made from “Bansi” a traditional variety of wheat hence named so. Bansi Rava is quite popular in Karnataka and many other Indian homes and is used in a variety of culinary dishes famous being Upma, Dosa, Vada, Rava dhokla and many varieties of halwa.
