The title of this book needs a word of linguistic justification. Grammatically the term 'seldom' is an adverb of time. But it has been freed from the shackles of grammar, and used as a pluralized noun to underscore the significance of the untrodden poetic nuances and style adopted and stitched like a running thread into the poems, assorted here. The range of the poems roams ramblingly through sundry contemplations of the poet. The object-referents to the poet's thought process are variegated, gently swaying from contemporary issues to classical archetypes of self-quest, love and its primal manifestations, and god-contemplation. Tonally there are wide variations, from genial humour and satire to deep involvement in an observed phenomenon, to the point of empathy. The poems will hopefully stir the soul of a reader and make him rethink over accepted myths and motifs.
