The manual of skull base surgery is a unique book highlighting the anatomical and surgical methodology in dealing with the skull base tumors. The skull base tumors always require a multidisciplinary approach. So in order to establish a good skull base unit requires a great deal of cooperation and understanding among the various consultants of the specialized departments. Not many Indian authors have written a comprehensive and systematic text book on skull base surgery. About the Author Produl Hazarika is Ex-Professor and Head Department of ENT and Head & Neck Surgery Kasturba Medical College Manipal. He has more than 27 years of experience in clinical practice and in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching With over 80 publications in national and international medical journals he is one of the most sought-after speakers in various conferences live surgery workshops and medical education programmes in India and abroad. He was selected as an international guest scholar by the American College of Surgeons in l986 He has travelled worldwide to countries including the USA UK Australia Malaysia Switzerland and Mauritius. He has designed ‘HRA voice prosthesis‘ for alaryngeal patients. He was the first surgeon to introduce Nucleus 22 channel cochlear implant in India in l985. He also popularized the skull base surgery in early 90s in India. Rohit Singh is presently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of ENT at Kasturba Medical College Manipal. He is actively involved in clinical teaching and research.He was awarded AOI Gold Medal for the best outgoing postgraduate student in 2005.He was conferred with Good Teacher Award in 2006-07 for excellence in undergraduate teaching by Manipal University. He was also awarded Sir Ratan Tata Scholar Travel grant for a Fellowship with Prot Heinz Richard Stammberger Graz Austria in August 2008. He has presented papers Kat international congresses in Florida (USA) Switzerland Thailand and Sri Lanka. He has a keen interest in endoscopic sinus surgery head and neck surgery and laser surgeries. Dr. Kailesh Pujary MS DNB is an Associate professor in the Department of ENT- Head and Neck Surgery at Kasturba Medical College Manipal. He has more than nine years of experience in clinical practice and in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. He has more than 25 publications in national and international journals to his credit. He has received awards for his presentations in Head and Neck Oncology conference and South Zone AOI conferences. He was invited as a panelist on Endoscopic Sinus Surgery. His area of interest is Head and Neck Oncology and Skull Base Surgery in addition to Endoscopic Surgeries and KTP laser assisted surgeries. Dr. Sunil Ramnani MBBS MS is a Senior Clinical Research Fellow in the Dept. of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery Manipal. He was awarded gold medal for his good performance in his MS exam. He has received AOI Gold medal in the paper presentation in annual conference. At present he is working as a consultant ENT Surgeon in Railway Hospital Mumbai.
