The book is very useful for the undergraduate and postgraduate students of Economics, Geography, Environmental science, Bio-tech and other Natural sciences. Natural resources are one of the most important pillars of sustainable development. The need to establish a sustainable development process at the micro level in India is urgent from various considerations— social, economic, political and environmental. The common property resources, which are by and large natural resources, must be protected and enriched for overall growth of the rural areas. Such effort will not only lead to optimum utilisation of resources but also generate more employment opportunities for rural people. The author strongly feels that the development of agriculture and allied sector needs a disciplinary approach.
