About The Author: Rao Bahadur Mahadev Vishwanath Dhurandhar (1867–1944) was a renowned Indian painter and illustrator of the British colonial era. Trained at J.J. School of Art, where he later became Head Master, he documented Bombay’s life, Hindu mythology, and historical themes. His works appeared in books, postcards, and periodicals, including Deccan Nursery Tales by C.A. Kincaid. Elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in 1938, Dhurandhar’s artistic legacy includes thousands of paintings, lithographs, and illustrations, preserving India's cultural and historical essence.
