From storage onwards many naturally available materials have been used for construction of various civil engineering structures. As days moved new materials have been innovated to meet different needs of the mankind in the construction areas. All these materials have been tested by some testing methods or otherwise to find their suitability for the stipulated civil engineering works. These tests may be field or laboratory tests Theses tests have been made on nascent or processed materials before construction further tests have been developed to test a part or of the structure in the field after certain period of constructions to assess its capabilities at different stages. Complete information on the testing of various materials used in civil engineering work is not yet available. This book satisfied this need.
