He has been teaching postgraduate students for the last twelve years. His current areas of research have been materials science and space science (cosmic rays). Dr Saxena has written Principles of Modern Physics Thermodynamics and Statistical Mechanics Electromagnetic Theory and Applications Solid State Physics Atomic and Molecular Spectra and Lasers High Temperature Superconductors and Quantum Mechanics (CBS). He is alife-member of India Physics Association.
