That Thing Called Love, written by Tuhin A. Sinha, is a story of romance between an unlikely couple. A match-making website seems the perfect place to find the perfect partner. But for 29-year-old Mayank Sahai, the site’s ad-sales manager, this is a place of disillusionment. He has been searching for that elusive relationship, trying to find the perfect life partner. For a long time, this led him nowhere, but suddenly, he finds his ideal match. Unfortunately, she is a married woman, older than him. She is happily married and unlikely to be searching for a new relationship. The story of Mayank’s romance takes place during the monsoon season in Mumbai. The weather perhaps represents the murky nature of this love. Other characters form the background of this love affair are, a cheating male-chauvinist husband, a receptionist who is also a call girl, and another husband who is very understanding and supportive of his wife and waits for her to recover from a past relationship. In the middle of all these and the chaos caused by the weather and his love affair, Mayank seeks to find a balance between dream and reality. Tuhin Sinha is from Jharkhand and has a post-graduate diploma in advertising and communication. He is a television script writer, guest columnist in Times of India and an author. That Thing Called Love is his first novel. The Captain is his second novel, set in the world of cricket. His third novel, Of Love and Politics, explores personal relationsship that transcend political ideologies and allegiances in the world of politics.
