Rare crime fiction whodunit from the creator of Winnie the Pooh.The Red House Mystery is set in an English country house, where Mark Ablett is hosting a house party consisting of a widow and her young daughter, a retired major, an actress, and Bill Beverley, a young man about town. Mark's long-lost brother Robert, the black sheep of the family, arrives from Australia and shortly thereafter is found dead, shot through the head. Mark Ablett has disappeared, so Tony Gillingham, a stranger who has just arrived to look up his friend Bill, decides to investigate. Gillingham plays Holmes to Beverly's Watson; and they progress almost playfully through the novel while both clues and theories multiply. Four Days Wonder is a classic comedy mystery novel by Milne completing his forays into crime fiction and compiled for the first time. A young woman obsessed with murder mysteries goes to visit her aunt at a country house, only to find her dead. Invigorated by the excitement she launches an investigation.
