The Adventures of Don Quixote is an easy-to-read and abridged version of Miguel Cervantes' adventure classic, which recounts the adventures of an idealistic knight and his squire. Summary of the Book Alonso Quixano is the protagonist of The Adventures of Don Quixote. Alonso is a retired countryman who lives in an unnamed section of La Mancha with his niece and housekeeper. Alonso is mostly a rational man and loves reading books of chivalry in excess. These books have a profound effect on him and he believes every word of these books. He gets so influenced by these stories that he decides to go on an adventure. He dons an old suit, renames himself "Don Quixote." He names his skinny horse Rocinante and sets out on an adventure with a simple farmer Sancho Panza as his squire. This delightful story of chivalry is all about fun and pleasure, laughter, excitement, and a little bit of suspense. This book will make for an ideal read for teenagers. He is best known for Don Quixote which is regarded amongst the best work of fiction ever written.
