The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is one of Mark Twain’s most famous novels. It is a loose sequel to The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Summary of the Book There are, perhaps, no two other boys in all of fiction who manage to attract trouble to themselves like Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer. Living along the Mississippi River, Huckleberry Finn seems to have a hard time fitting into society. His father, the local drunkard, is no help, and the kind women who care for Huck seem to only want to reform him into a civilized gentleman. However, Huck wants none of that, he just wants to enjoy his childhood and escape this boring civilized life. Fortunately for him, his closest friend is none other than the ingenious Tom Sawyer who seems to hatch more nefarious plans than a band of outlaws! Tom’s plans, however, have a way of being more trouble than they’re worth, but that doesn’t stop Huck from following orders. He’s desperate to escape, even if it involves helping a slave escape and then dressing up as girls! A classic tale of the triumphs and tribulations of being a young boy ankle-deep in trouble, this story has enchanted dozens of generations throughout the years and is a definite read for children of all ages.
