The Adventures of Pinocchio is a novel for children written by Italian author Carlo Collodi. It is a story about the mischievous adventures of an animated wooden puppet named Pinocchio and his father, a poor woodcarver named Geppetto. Itis famous the world over, and has been familiar in English for over a century. From the moment Gappetto the carpenter carves a puppet that can walk and talk, this wildly inventive fantasy takes Pinocchio through countless adventures, in the course of which his nose grows whenever he tells a lie, he is turned into a donkey, and is swallowed by a dogfish, before he gains real happiness.His friends, the Cricket and the Blue Fairy, try to make see that his dream – to be a real boy – can never come true until he finally changes his ways.
