This book of Major Cunningham is very important to know the true history and geography of India. It is due to the tireless efforts of Sir Major General Cunningham that the real history of India has come before the world. On the basis of historical documents of Hwen Tsang and Fa Hien, he studied all the sites of Maurya period and Buddhist period of India and excavated many of them. To know and understand our land India, one must read this book.
